Ventnor Botanic Garden

21 Years

The Society encourages the use, enjoyment and development of Ventnor Botanic Garden and is helping to increase knowledge about trees, shrubs and plants.

Membership gives a number of benefits which you can read about here. The Friends also organise educational and social events to raise funds for Ventnor Botanic Garden. Most recently we made a successful bid for funds for the Westgate Project which was officially opened by HRH The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Past projects included equipping the GreenHouse to grow the Victoria Amazonica lily and to the development of the Southern Hemisphere Garden.

Over many years, the events, plant sales and annual plant auctions organised by the Friends have raised thousands of pounds.

Volunteers have the opportunity to work in the garden. They can participate in all events and are welcome to contribute plants they have grown to the spring and autumn plant sales. Whether you love plants, would like to bring your family and friends to an idyllic setting or want to be actively involved, we would encourage and welcome you warmly as members.

We are delighted to welcome, and very grateful for the support as Corporate members, of The Royal Hotel, Ventnor; The Garlic Farm, Newchurch; Liz Earle - Naturally Active Skincare - and Goddards Brewery
.

A talk by Liz Earle's Botanist is taking place in June. Please refer to the progamme for details.
